Project 365: January 24-30, 2012

January 24: Today was very drizzly and gloomy, but I thought my bush looked beautiful in the rain.

January 25: Today my photography business officially became a reality. You can visit me at www.donnawallacephotography.com!

January 26: My oldest is getting excited to have a cooking birthday party. We took this picture to use on the invites.

January 27: This shot will be my youngest daughter's class Valentine (along with a lollipop in her hand).

January 28: And this will be my oldest daughter's Valentine.

January 29: Tonight everyone got to create their own dinner packet to put out on the grill. Yum!

January 30: My first set of photo panels arrived today and I LOVE them. Wish I had ordered some sooner!

Project 365: January 18-23, 2012

January 18: My poor baby girl had to stay home sick today. Luckily, it was just a 24 hour bug, but she was pretty pitiful all day.

 January 19: Squinkees!

January 20: Rehearsal for the Wedding tomorrow and I'm guessing Sophia thinks it's going well.

January 21: Chloe was one of the four flower girls for my cousin's wedding.

January 22(ish): Okay, confession time...I didn't take a picture today. I'll share one more from the wedding day, but in my defense I did take over 700 pictures yesterday and my allergies are going nuts.

January 23: Sophia loves looking through our Disney World scrapbook.

Project 365: January 8-10, 2012

January 8th, we had a lazy day at home. So, I decided to let the girls paint and my oldest was in heaven!

January 9th: My youngest has developed a new love of the computer. She is addicted to Dora games on Nick Jr.

January 10: Sometimes you just have to photograph what is right there. Today, my cat was the lucky one next to me when I remembered that I hadn't yet taken my photo.

Project 365: January 5-7, 2012

Yea! Made it through the whole first week. What fun.

January 5th: I went to the Spurs vs. Mavs game with my husband. He's a big Mavs fan and I've been cheering for the Spurs since I could talk so I was thrilled that we stomped them by over 20 points. Whoo hoo!

January 6th: Mondays and Fridays, my little one is home with me all day while big sister is at school. It's fun to have that one-on-one time with her.

January 7th: The girls got some much needed down time this morning to just play together. I love listening to their imaginations at work as they come up with new adventures. I decided to sneak up to the playroom to catch a glimpse of the messy and chaotic fun.

Project 365: January 3 & 4, 2012

Almost forgot yesterday and it's only day 3. Ugh! But, I did not. I had no light, and although my cat was being super cute, she would not cooperate if I turned on a light or the flash. So, you ended up with a flower shot instead because they were being much more still. I took that as an opportunity to play with some processing that I don't normally do.

As for today, I figured I would take a shot that would also serve as my declaration of intent. I intend to get my bootie to the gym more. My husband has decided we should do a half marathon this year. We'll see. But I did go work out this morning. Yea me!

Here are my pics for yesterday and today. I think I might start posting these weekly. That way I can shoot everyday, but I don't have two things to commit to each night.

Project 365: January 2, 2012

One of my goals for this year is to try and get more caught up on my scrapbooks. I keep thinking my stories would be better if they were fresher in my mind when I committed them to paper (or screen since I'm digital these days). So, today I am taking advantage of the girls spending time with Mamaw and doing a little work on my books.

2012: A New Year in 365 Pictures

Okay, so it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything on this blog. Yes, life has gotten in the way and many of the photo challenges I was entering sort of fizzled out. In short, I was out of time and inspiration. BUT, today is the start of a new year (although today is almost over). I've decided to try doing a 365 project this year. I guess it's actually 366 this year, but whatever. Here's hoping that I'm able to keep up with it this time and here is my first picture of the series.

This is the aftermath of my NYE with my brother and my sister-in-law. We had so much fun just hanging out and going out for dinner. We drank way more than any of us have in a LONG time and really just enjoyed each other's company. And so....a toast....to a wonderful, productive and memorable 2012!

My365: January 14-15

January 14: I thought I was going to take a picture of breakfast this morning for a food challenge at the Simplicity blog. However, my little girls must have really loved their pigs in blankets because they didn't even save one for Daddy. Oh wait! I think I see a crumb!

January 15: Today I made the girls their favorite breakfast...the smiley face sunshine. They were so excited when they came to the table. Too bad it's the only sun we've seen in days. This rainy, cold weather is getting a little sad. :o(

My365: January 11-13

January 11: Couldn't resist snapping a picture of Daddy reading the girls their bedtime story. I love that he gets this time with them every night and I know it means so much to them all.

January 12: This is a cool decanter I got years ago from a good friend. I don't know why it seemed like the thing to shoot today, but I thought this pic in the window was interesting.

January 13: I almost forgot a shot today so I ended up with terrible lighting (just like on the 11th). However, this gave me another chance to practice some new editing skills. Yea me! I'm learning! The girls have been upstairs playing princesses in their dollhouse for over an hour now (they are still up there even after this interruption). Too cute! I love that they play so well together and have such wonderful imaginations.

My365: January 10

Today is dreary, so what better to photograph than a raindrop. I'm not good at this kind of thing and usually not too motivated by it either. So, to add to the challenge, I decided to learn something new in Photoshop Elements as well. Now I have an image that might be way overprocessed, but at least I got out of my comfort zone and learned something new today. Fun! Enjoy my raindrop.

My 365: January 7 - 9

January 7: Texas Aggie Band marching in the 2011 Cotton Bowl. If only our team's performance had been as fantastic as our band's that night. Oh well...still a fun time with great friends!

January 8: The Texas sky on our drive back home from my iPhone. The sky was so beautiful during out drive home that I kept wanting to stop and pull out my "real" camera. I never did, but I did snap some images on my phone and this is one of them. This was not the most spectacular "sky moment" of the trip, but it was the best photo.

January 9: My beautiful girls posting for a Valentine shoot I wanted to try so that I could create a card to enter over at The Paper Mama.

My 365: January 1 - January 6

Okay, okay...the peer pressure has gotten to me. I've been toying with doing this, but was scared of the committment, but now I have been challenged to join in the fun so here I go. I am going to attempt one of these 365 things. I hope to post a photo for every day of 2011. That said, I already missed 2 days, but I took a pic in the morning and one at night on an adjacent day so I'm going to cheat (by a few hours) and call it a different day. Ha! So there!

January 1: This was for a Sparkly photo challenge.

January 2: This was for a New photo challenge

January 3: My little one LOVES to dress up EVERY day. The skirt and the shoes are cute, but I also love that she is wearing a tiara on the back of her head. Can't see it, but it cracks me up!

January 4: This was for a Happy New Year challenge. I was excited to start the new year off with a clean playroom, we were even ready to host a tea party!

January 5: This was for a White on White photo challenge

January 6: Here's my little one after I woke her up this morning. She is such a morning person that I sometimes wonder how she's related to either of us!
