Shutter Love Tuesdays: Back To School Shopping

We really didn't buy a ton of back to school stuff this year. She's going to Kinder (sniff, sniff) and growing like a weed so I'm kind of trying to play it by ear rather than buy a ton now that she will outgrow by Christmas. At any rate, she did pick out 3 new outfits that she is super proud of the other day. I didn't snap any pics while we shopped, but I did snap one at home later. Hope that counts for the Shutter Love Tuesday back to school shopping challenge.

The challenge this week at Trendy Treehouse is hair. I just love this picture of my girls with their matching braids and buns and feathers and flowers. I chose this shot so that you could see the style from the front and back at the same time. Ha!

Shutter Love Tuesdays: Cakes

I thought about showing you some of the cakes I've made from the outside...with their VERY amaterish decoration filled with lots of love and sincere effort. However, the one that was the biggest hit had a big surprise inside. I made my daughter a sea turtle cake for her last birthday, but surprised her by turning the inside into a rainbow. It was so fun to see the look on her face when we cut into it.

This summer, my girls have been pretty fabulous. They have played together a lot and have really mastered the whole sharing thing. I'm so proud. Yes, we've had moments with fighting and whining, but considering the amount of time together, it really hasn't been bad. It makes me smile. The other day, they were up in their rooms for a while in the morning. They came down dressed in their coordinating outfits and had fixed each other's hair and even included accessories. Then they actually asked me if we could go outside to take some pictures. It was so cool! Here's one of the pictures from that day.

July 4th and Red, White & Blue

Sure, I have lots of photos with lots of patriotic colors from this past weekend, but for some reason I have decided to enter this one for the 4th of July/Red, White and Blue challenges this week. I know it's just a small little spot of the red, white and blue, but I think it's just so cute. Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend (if you are in the US) and that you enjoy my baby with her tatoo.

  

Father's Day and Parenthood Challenges

Seems as though everyone is having Father's Day or Parenthood challenges this week. I'd love to try to enter different photos for each one, but we just got back from the beach today and I have way too much to do to get caught up on everything else. Sorry! But, I did manage to drag my tired kids and their Daddy outside a little while ago to snap a picture or two. My girls love to cuddle with Daddy!

Today was Crazy Sock Day in C's class and I figured I could take her out and snap a few shots for the scrapbook this morning and maybe get a good crazy face picture for the Trendy Treehouse photo challenge at the same time. Little did I know that both girls would love the challenge. I'd ask for an emotion and they'd try to give it to me. Ha! We all had fun. I had a really hard time narrowing it down and there was no way I could pic just one. So, I decided to make a little collage for you guys this week. Oh, and don't you just love the way the slight breeze was catching C's hair this morning? Hubby said he now understands the need for wind machines on photo shoots. :o)

Okay, here is another timer shot so that I could do the Mother's Day theme over at Trendy Treehouse. I decided I should take multiple shots since I have multiple kiddos rather than entering the same shot in both challenges. I tried so hard to get a Sophia to cooperate in time with the timer so that we could get a cute shot together. Eventually I gave up on that and just tried to make her giggle. It's what she does best anyway, so why not?

Okay, sorry I've been missing this week, but I've been swamped with "stuff." Don't you hate it when life just gets in the way? However, I am excited to say that my photo of the girls dancing in the playroom won 2nd place in the Shutter Love Tuesday Hands photo challenge last week. Yea! This week at Trendy Treehouse, the theme is "hands." Yesterday, I walked into the playroom and the girls were dancing together and pretending they were at a royal ball. I snapped this picture while they danced hand in hand. Please disregard the hundreds of toys in the background. That's all part of the show (or so I was told).
