Shoot & Edit: Shadows Edit
Well, I liked this week's photo so much that I ran a clean edit on it for another challenge yesterday. Then I saw Ashley's tutorial this week and though "Hmmm, guess one more version isn't so bad." Ha! So, here are my three versions side by side. For the last one, I ran a deep blue photo filter at 50%, but then I brushed it off of the sand and my daughter so that it only intensified the ocean and sky.

Shoot & Edit: Shadows SOOC
This week we are shooting shadow pictures for the Shoot & Edit challenge. Here is a SOOC shot from our recent beach trip. I have a lot of shadowy pictures from that trip actually, but I love this one because it's completely candid and she is so intense about her shell collecting.

Shoot & Edit: Bright & Colorful
I haven't made it to the Shoot & Edit challenge for a few weeks and boy have I missed it. I have still been reading all of their great tutorials, just haven't had time to post. So here are my bright and colorful straight out of the camera shots for this week. I love them both (the girls and the pictures), but they are a little dark for my taste. Should be fairly simple to fix them up in ACR, but we'll see if I feel like doing more on Thursday.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday: July 24, 2011
I guess I'm feeling ambitious this week because I'm attempting to gather all of the photos I need for the scavenger hunt. Yea!
Music To My Ears: We spent this past week at a music camp. The girls had a blast singing, ringing bells, clapping rythym sticks and dancing around. They especially loved the craft projects such as this tambourine. They have put on several concerts for us right here in our home using their handcrafted musical intruments.

Hat: Chloe has been playing around with this hat a lot lately. I think she knows how darn cute she is in it!
Clear: Okay, so it's more sheer than clear, but I had a hard time with this one. My only inpiration came at a time when the girls wouldn't really cooperate and neither would the light so this was the closest thing I could come up with for the prompt.
Out of this World: I was at a loss for this one and can't wait to see what others come up with for it. My girls looked like they could launch themselves out of this world the other day as they jumped and played in the much needed rain shower we got.
Sprinkles: And finally, a sprinkle picture. I thought about sharing another one from our rainy day just because the girls were so cute jumping in the sprinkles. Ha! But I thought that was a little lame. So, instead, here is a picture of Sophia enjoying a cupcake with SPRINKLES!

Shoot & Edit: Summer Edits
So, I really actually loved my summer photos this week SOOC. I sharpened them up a bit and brightened them up a bit, but pretty much left them alone. Oh! I also did use the clone stamp to take out the person behind her in the pool and the foot on the edge of the hot tub. They just seemed a bit distracting.

Shoot & Edit: Summer SOOC
This week's shoot & edit is all about summer. We recently went swimming in our friends' fancy pool that has a fun waterfall. I spent the day photographing my kids in that water, behind it, in front of it, with water in focus, with kids in focus...it was hours of fun for me. Ha! Anyway, here are two SOOC camera shots that I just love and they totally say "summer is the best!"

Shoot & Edit: Skies the Limit Edits
So, I knew today would be a little busy and decided to edit my photos earlier in the week. But I ran over to Ashley's site this morning to see what the tutorial was before posting, just in case there was something to play with that I hadn't thought of already (there usually is). Maybe I've been following this too long because Ashley and I were so in sync this week. I had already loaded my images into a free CoffeeShop frame! How strange. So, just some clean edits this week, but I did add a little bokeh to the first one just for fun. Not sure if it really did much to the photo, but what the heck, right? Hope you enjoy!

Shoot & Edit: Skies the Limit
When I saw that this week's theme was "skies the limit", I immediately thought I needed a cool sky-related shot. But I just wasn't inspired by that. Then I ran across these pictures that I took at Sea World recently and I really thought they fit the theme perfectly. I am always in awe that these HUGE whales can do the acrobatics that they do in the shows. It really blows me away. I'm also still totally in awe of the little baby whale even though she's growing up so quickly (much like my own babies...sniff). Anyway, here are my 3 favorite shots from the show that day. I know one is really less than ideal, but when baby jumped, the lighting was just darker and it was more imortant to catch the moment. Now if only I had brought my 70-200 that day. Oh well! You can only juggle so much gear with the kiddos in tow.

Shoot & Edit: Father's Day Edit
Here is a clean edit of my Father's Day photo as well as a Black and White conversion. I probably wouldn't do a BW conversion on this one normally, but since that's the tutorial this week, I figured I would try it. I like it more than I thought I would, but I still think the fun color works better with the craziness of the girls.

Shoot & Edit: Father's Day SOOC
The Shoot & Edit challenge for this week is also a Father's Day themed challenge. Here is one more shot that I got of my tired little crew this evening. The girls are both trying to give Daddy hugs and you can see that their personalities are so different, even down to the way they show affection. Ha! I love all three of them so much and I'm glad Daddy was able to get away for a few days to spend some time with us at the beach.

Shoot & Edit: Chalk Edits
It's Thursday, which means it is time to show everyone my edits for the Shoot & Edit challenge. I'm liking the mouseover idea that Ashley sharted this week, but just don't have time to try that out today. Maybe I'll use that next week though!

Shoot & Edit: Chalk
After seeing that this week's Shoot & Edit challenge was chalk, I had some great ideas in my head for chalk drawing photos I wanted to try out with my kids. But yesterday my little one decided she had enough swimming and pulled out the chalk while the rest of the kids were still splashing away. Of course, I had to shoot some pictures and then I figured I might as well use my real life shots rather than trying to stage something later. So, here are a few pics of S chalking up the bricks yesterday.

Shoot & Edit: Umbrella Edits
So, I was really pretty happy with my impromptu umbrella shoot the other day. Now that I have edited them, I'm even happier. I'm going to LOVE putting these in a scrapbook! Sorry for putting 5 of them up this week, but I couldn't decide what I would want to edit.
Oh! And I have to share a story too. So, if you notice S is touching her shoulder in several of these photos. One day she fell and was crying and I said, "Oh no! Someone hit your sad button." Then I proceeded to locate a silly button, a happy button, a sweet button and several others. Now, when we take pictures and I ask her where her smile is, she has to hit her happy button to make it appear. Hmmmm...note to self, try to locate a less obvious happy button!

Shoot and Edit: Umbrella SOOC
We've had a lot of umbrella prompts lately and this time I actually took some new shots. Yea! Here are my straight out of the camera pics for this week's Shoot and Edit challenge.
